The 28th annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nominations were announced on Wednesday, with a notable presence of Rent playwright Jonathan Larson's spirit. Rosario Dawson, who starred in the 2005 film adaptation of Rent , and Vanessa Hudgens, who recently portrayed a role in the biopic Tick, Tick... Boom! , presented the list of nominees.

Netflix emerged as a frontrunner, securing 10 nominations across various titles including Don’t Look Up , Passing , The Power of the Dog , Tick, Tick... Boom! , and Squid Game .

Ruth Negga, star of Passing , received her first SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. Don’t Look Up secured a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. The South Korean sensation Squid Game made a strong showing, with Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon receiving individual nods, and the series itself nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
